If you listened to our last episode, you'll know I left you on a cliff-hanger as to what's coming up next. I can finally tell you.
First, you're going to hear a new voice on the podcast: Una Vulevic, a PhD student in Slavic Languages and Literatures. You'll hear us discuss Andrei Platonov's The Foundation Pit on Nov. 6.
I love doing this podcast, but doing it solo can be pretty draining. Conversation is the foundation of The Slavic Literature Pod and, as much as I enjoy the interviews I put out, they're not quite the same as a dialogue.
That's why, a couple months back, I decided to find a new host for the show. When I sat down to assess people I could feasibly ask, Una was the first person that came to mind.
I'd "known" Una for some time--she'd emailed us some questions years ago and occasionally reached out afterward. In fact, you have Una to thank for Chevengur p.2; after months of letting the episode languish in research hell, I finally remembered that people do listen to this podcast when she reached out to ask about it.
Plus, she has a YouTube channel, Slavic Literature Girl, where she speaks about literature. Given her nexus of education and content creation experience, I thought she'd be a good fit.
As of today, we've recorded our first episode, and I'm happy to tell you: It was a blast to do things the old way. I'm really excited for you to hear our conversation. We're aiming to record one episode per month, so you'll be hearing more of the Slavic Literature Pod in the near future.
I'm also cooking up a few other things, which--given my pace--I don't want to commit to a date just yet. But, here's a little sneak preview of the research I'm doing...

Until next time.
